PRICES

Prices charged shall be our quoted price at the date of order. All quotations are valid for 6 weeks from the date of quotation. All prices quoted exclude VAT.

20% VAT may be withheld when goods are removed from the UK.  However, for VAT audit we must retain evidence of movement of the goods.  If we arrange shipping our agent will provide this.  However, if you choose to arrange shipping we are obliged to collect a 20% POD (proof of delivery) deposit which is refundable when we receive satisfactory proof of delivery from you.  Notwithstanding this if goods remain within the EU we must also verify your VAT registration in the state of acquisition before the supply can be treated as VAT free in the UK. 


CONFIRMATION OF ORDER, RESERVE & CANCELLATIONS

All orders must be confirmed in writing.  Soane Britain cannot accept responsibility for errors that may occur with a telephone order which has not been confirmed in writing.

Payment of your invoice will be treated as confirmation of order as per the details on the invoice and any subsequent changes will be confirmed in writing.

All fabric, wallpaper, antique, leather, Quick Ship orders and any order up to the value of £3,000 are payable in full before production or dispatch. Soane fabric and wallpaper designs are subject to minimums.  For all other orders, we will issue you with a non-refundable deposit invoice.

Production of your order will start a) when payment is received or b) when all the details of the order (e.g. finish selection, upholstery details) are received, whichever is later.

A delay in receipt of payment in full or a deposit, or confirmation of specifications, will usually lead to a delay in the ready date for your order.

Please note that our upholsterers must receive fabric/leather at least 8 weeks before the agreed ready date for your order.   We will advise you if late receipt of fabric/leather has caused a delay to the ready date.

If you are providing your own fabric or leather for upholstery, please supply Soane Britain with a sample and upholstery instructions in advance so that we can check it is workable with your order.  Unfortunately, Soane cannot accept responsibility for fabric wrongly received or mistakes in upholstery if this information is not received.   We also reserve the right to reject fabric or leather that in our workshop’s opinion is not of suitable quality, or advise you if extra charges apply.

The balance of your order will be invoiced two weeks before the agreed ready date (except those orders which are payable up front). We must receive cleared funds at least 5 working days before your order can be dispatched or collected. If your order is not dispatched or collected on the agreed ready date the balance must still please be paid no later than one week after the agreed date or weekly storage fees will be applied. For details of our re-stocking pricing, please speak to your Account Manager.

Cancellation or amendment of Soane Fabrics and Wallpapers orders must be confirmed in writing whereupon Soane Britain will endeavour to cancel or amend the order. If you need to increase your order, additional meterage will be cut from the same roll of fabric where possible. If this is not possible, for orders of 5 yards/metres or more, we recommend that you request a CFA. Your order cannot be cancelled or amended if Soane Britain has already cut the fabric from stock or put the order into production.

After 10 days, any stock reserves will be automatically cancelled.

 

HANDMADE PRODUCTION & EXACT MATCHING

We believe that the many traditional skills and techniques used to make Soane Britain’s designs add to the beauty and individuality of each piece. If you require a higher level of uniformity or finish than these techniques may allow, please discuss your requirements with us before confirming your order. Please note that samples of our “standard” finishes should not be used for matching.

All Soane’s fabrics are hand printed or woven using natural materials and fibres. Although we make every effort to achieve an exact colour match between batches, it cannot always be guaranteed. Please ask for a stock cutting if an exact match is required.

The nature of weaving means that that there will be occasional flaws in the fabric.

Where an order is being fulfilled from stock, we will attempt to deliver a flawless cut. However, when an order is woven to order, we will apply the following tolerance levels: 1 fault in 10 metres or 2 faults in 15 meters; e.g. 5 faults tolerated in 50 metres of fabric. For every fault, an additional 20cm extra is added free of charge.

 

DELIVERY & STORAGE

Your quoted price will include delivery of your order from our workshops to the Soane Britain London warehouse (‘ex works’) and unpackaged.   

Due to space constraints we can only keep your order for 5 working days after the agreed ex works date.  We are pleased to offer the following options for onward delivery and/or storage:

Collection.   You are welcome to arrange collection of your order between 9am and 4pm GMT.  Please ensure that we have at least 24 hours’ notice of collection and that your courier service has the relevant invoice number.   Note that excluding smaller lighting and hardware your order is stored without packaging.  Your professional collection service will need to bring suitable packaging, protection and manpower to transfer the items safely and securely.   Soane reserves the right to advise our clients at the point of collection if we believe that your collection service is not suitable for the order.

If you would like us to crate or otherwise pack your order ready for collection, please speak to our Logistics team who will be happy to advise on options and prices.  We require 10 days’ notice to organise crating services.

If your order is being delivered abroad, and you are organising your own collection, please note that we are obliged to charge a refundable POD deposit in line with HMRC regulations.

If you are organising your own collection Soane bears no responsibility for orders damaged in transit once they have been collected from our warehouse.

Delivery.  We offer a range of insured delivery options: from a boxed courier service, to air and sea freight; consolidated and white glove delivery.   We can arrange export packing, customs documentation and insurance for export orders.   In the UK we can offer some installation services. 

Your Account Manager or our Logistics team can advise, quote and invoice for these delivery services at any stage of your order.  All delivery charges must be paid before your order leaves our warehouse.

Storage.   If you cannot collect or make delivery arrangements for your order within 5 working days of the ex-works date we may be able to offer you storage, depending on the current warehouse capacity.   The Logistics team will be happy to quote you for storage charges.   All storage charges must be paid for monthly or, if for less than a month, weekly in advance.

 

ACCEPTANCE

You should unpack and inspect your order immediately on delivery. Within 3 days of delivery please give Soane Britain notice in writing if any of the goods are not in accordance with the written order, damaged or defective.

No claims for faulty fabrics or wallpapers can be made after the fabrics or wallpapers have been cut or hung.

Soane Britain cannot accept claims for non-delivery of the order unless notified in writing within 5 days of the agreed delivery date.
