Meaning “moth” in Hindi, Patanga is a vividly patterned linen evoking tropical forests with rambling flowers and exotic insects, designed in collaboration with the English artist Charlotte Johnstone. Initially inspired by south-east Asian fabrics in Soane’s textile archive, Charlotte’s painterly pattern is instilled with her great interest in gardens and pollinators. Charlotte made numerous studies in pencil and watercolour, and her artwork has been faithfully replicated by printers in England to retain all the distinct characteristics of her original design.

All of our fabrics have passed the Cigarette FR test but will either need to be used in combination with a suitable FR interliner or backcoating to meet the relevant FR standards.
