This design has been transcribed from a very fine printed nineteenth century Iranian alam, or banner, depicting the relationship between water and shade in a paradisiacal garden. Persian Maze is offered as a weave, a print and a wallpaper, each in different scales. Sitting between the weave and the printed fabric in scale is the wallpaper.
