The Etienne Hanging Light – With Chain

Created in metal with a generous, octagonal shade, this unusual lamp casts a diffused light and beautiful shadows around the room. The design is reminiscent of hot air balloons and borrows its name from Jacques Etienne Montgolfier – one of the brothers attributed to having built the first flying balloon. The Etienne Hanging Light pays homage to an Art Deco antique in Soane’s collection, dating from the 1930s. It is made by skilled engineers in East Sussex, England, before being finished in Soane’s own patination workshop.

This is an original Soane Britain design and as such is protected by registered design rights.

Available in Soane's standard metal finishes, excluding plated finishes.

Supplied with;
4 x 500mm lengths of Rectangular Split Link Chain
UK/US: 4½" Brass Plain ceiling rose with 4 hooks
Fixing screws are provided.
All metalwork will be finished in Antique Brass.
Ceiling Rose/Canopy will be drilled with one hole for electrification. Fixing holes to be drilled on site unless specified.

3 bulbs.

All of our metal finishes are hand applied, living finishes and unlacquered, and we expect these to age and patina over time, this includes our samples.

This design has been made for the domestic use and has not been tested for a non-domestic environment.

The inside of the shade is not as highly polished as the outside of the shade due to the polishing process, and this will mean it will age at different rates

Lead Time +

14 weeks. Lead time on quantities of 6 or more will need to be confirmed in advance of order.
