The Moonback Chair

Inspired by a fine English side chair from the 1780s, this elegant design works well as a side, desk or dining chair. Made by expert chair makers in Dorset and upholstered in a choice of Soane (or client’s own) fabric or leather, it is finished with a line of decorative nailing – a traditional finishing technique done entirely by hand in Soane’s own workshop in Somerset, England.

The upholstery filling of this design is made using natural materials.

Available in Soane's painted beech, oak, sipo mahogany or walnut. With single line nailing along the seat deck and front of arms and a buttoned seat and back.

Lead Time +

16 weeks. Lead time on quantities of 6 or more will need to be confirmed in advance of order.

Lead time will start from receipt of deposit and confirmation of all specifications.

8 weeks must be allowed from receipt of COM/COL.

Delivery +

Carriage charges can be quoted upon confirmation of the delivery address.

Upholstery +

Materials: British organic wool, coconut coir, horsehair, wool based interliner, webbing

COL: 50 sq ft of clean leather, free of extreme imperfections. We recommend sending an entire hide to achieve the best upholstery results.
