Charlotte Johnstone – Mawar Wallpaper – Gold

Designed in collaboration with the English artist Charlotte Johnstone, Mawar means “rose” in Indonesian. The disciplined scroll of flowers was initially inspired by south-east Asian fabrics in Soane’s textile archive. Developed over numerous studies in pencil and watercolour, Charlotte reimagined various botanical elements to create a pattern that is entirely her own. Faithfully replicated by printers in England, the wallpaper retains all the painterly qualities of Charlotte’s original artwork.

All of our fabrics have passed the Cigarette FR test but will either need to be used in combination with a suitable FR interliner or backcoating to meet the relevant FR standards.
