The Bascule Desk

The Bascule Desk is hand made by Soane's blacksmith at his workshop in the Forest of Dean. The forged iron frame has neat joint details and tucked in 'hoofed' feet. The hand beaten top is skilfully welded together, with panel details and hammered pull handles on the drawers adding to its character. A choice of drop in top is offered, each made by Soane's specialist craftsmen.

Available in Soane's forged finishes, with a choice of Soane drop in top. This design has been made for the domestic use and has not been tested for a non-domestic environment.

Lead Time +

16 weeks. 18 weeks for Gilded finishes. Lead time on quantities of 6 or more will need to be confirmed in advance of order.

Lead time will start from receipt of deposit and confirmation of all specifications.

8 weeks must be allowed from receipt of COM/COL.

Delivery +

Carriage charges can be quoted upon confirmation of the delivery address.

Upholstery +

COL: 30 sq ft of clean leather, free of extreme imperfections. We recommend sending an entire hide to achieve the best upholstery results.

For standard stitched top with a panel size of 750mm x 900mm is required for the larger middle section.

Standard stitching compromises of 1/4-1/2-1/4 panel sizes.
