The Apothecary Table Lamp – Vervain
Each of the 6 designs is limited to an edition of 30 with names which allude to their original medicinal contents. The sprightly, upright stems of vervain with its violet flowers, also known as wild hyssop or simpler’s joy, have been prized for their healing properties since antiquity; it was supposed to have been used to check the flow of blood from Christ’s wounds when he was taken from the cross. Its long slender stems are represented here among the delicate gold detailing often found on albarello jars, with this design based on a 15th-century Spanish jar held in the Metropolitan Museum’s collection.
This limited edition turned tulipwood table lamp comes with an 11” cream card shade included.
