The Bookcase Etagere

Inspired by an eighteenth century French etagere, The Bookcase Etagere is a semi-open design suitable for books or display purposes. Its modular approach allows flexibility in shelving design and works in corner situations. Bookcases of different widths may be linked using interchangeable single and double feet.

Made from tubular and sheet brass by Essex engineers, each ‘stage’ of the étagère is articulated by elegant ring details and finished at the top with tall decorative finials. Bespoke options include custom sizing and the opportunity to use Soane’s standard woods or leathers on the shelves.

Available in antique brass or Soane's special topkapi gilt.

Shelves are not fixed.

The recommended load per shelf is 20 kg/40 Ibs.

All of our metal finishes are hand applied, living finishes and unlacquered, and we expect these to age and patina over time, this includes our samples.

This design has been made for the domestic use and has not been tested for a non-domestic environment.

Lead Time +

16 weeks. Lead time on quantities of 6 or more will need to be confirmed in advance of order.

Lead time will start from receipt of deposit and confirmation of all specifications.

Carriage charges can be quoted upon confirmation of the delivery address.

Please note this product will require 3 people for loading and delivery to ensure it can be lifted safely. For custom or bespoke designs, this may increase to up to 4 people.
