Timber Stained – Pale Sipo Mahogany
Made from sipo mahogany, a more sustainable alternative to traditional mahogany which is now endangered, our timber is hand stained by craftspeople to give a rich finish. A grain filler is applied to prepare the timber before fine layers of stain are applied. A clear laquer enhances the natural characteristics of the grain, before being gently rubbed back with fine steel wool to create softness. Finally, the timber is sealed with a layer of beeswax.
All of Soane's timber complies with the EU's Timber Regulations (EUTR) and is independently certified as sustainable.
Sustainability is integral to our long-lasting products and the way we work. We are determined to source our materials responsibly and reduce our environmental impact.
